As of 12 am, 22nd April, a total of 22353 people have tested positive for the COVID-19 disease in Portugal, meaning there was an increase of 371 new cases since yesterday. Currently, 1095 people are being treated at the hospital, and of those 1095, 204 are in the ICU (intensive care unit).

Since the 1st of January, a total of 219848 people have been tested, of which 193447 have tested negative and 4048 are still awaiting test results. There are still 30342 people who are being monitored by the authorities, on suspicion of being infected.

Until now, we register 820 deaths and 1201 patients have recovered from the infection. Of these, we have 475 deaths in the North region, 179 deaths in the Center region, 146 deaths in the Lisbon and Tejo Valley region, 1 death in the Alentejo region, 11 deaths in the Algarve region and 8 deaths in the Autonomous Region of the Azores.
